Following this pre-shoot checklist will help ensure that your home is photographed quickly, efficiently, and with the best possible results.   

Exterior

  • Remove vehicles from driveway and away from the front of the home.

  • Place trash cans, gardens hoses, and anything that is not attached to the home out of sight.

  • Clean windows as necessary.

  • Organize patio furniture, uncover grill, open patio umbrella, etc.

  • Make sure the yard is free of toys, evidence of pets, unnecessary clutter etc.

Interior

  • Ensure lightbulbs are working and of the same color temperature (within the same fixture)

  • Remove door mats

  • Remove all pet items - bowls, toys, beds, etc

  • Open blinds / curtains to ensure as much natural light as possible

  • Turn off all TVs, computer screens, and spinning ceiling fans.

  • Conceal power cords

  • Put all shoes away

  • Make beds, straighten picture frames/artwork, organize pillows, etc

  • Avoid hiding items under beds or furniture

Kitchen

  • Clear countertops

  • Remove all magnets, photos, lists, etc from the refrigerator

  • Clean appliances to remove fingerprints, smudges, etc.

  • Remove wastebasket

  • Remove cleaning items - dish soap, kitchen towels, etc.

  • Straighten bar stools and table chairs

Bathrooms

  • Put toilet lids down

  • Clean mirrors

  • Clear counter of all personal belongings and toiletries - soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc

  • Remove all toiletries from bathtubs & showers - soaps, shampoos, razors, loofahs, etc

  • Remove all nondecorative bathmats and towels

  • Place a fresh roll of toilet paper on the holder

  • Remove toilet brush and trash can
